Computer Science PD Week

The Who, What, Where & Why of CS PD Week!

CS PD WeekThis year, Computer Science Professional Development Week (CS PD Week) will be June 12 – 16, 2023 at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. The week will be an opportunity for educators across the state to gather together, participate in professional learning to help to expand computer science learning and be shown appreciation. 

Organizers are working to take away common barriers to joining this in-person event, including providing stipends, lodging and several meals during the week.  

The intention is for CS PD Week to rotate around the state each year.  Summer 2024 is being planned for the Western part of Iowa.

Date: June 12 – 16, 2023 (Check-in begins June 11)

Location: University of Northern Iowa

Invited Audience: PreK-12 educators, coaches and administrators employed by accredited public and nonpublic districts in Iowa

License Renewal/Grad Credit: Options available by program. Opportunities to bundle programs to earn license renewal credit coming soon.

  • State: deliver computer science educator development and training opportunities in person whenever possible
  • District: provide PD to help meet district plan goals and action steps

Provide Equitable Access to Computer Science PD Across the State

  • Helps meet minimum participant requirements for high-interest programs
